Robotic surgery is the latest in surgical innovation providing a minimally invasive surgical approach whereby the surgeon is able to complete complex surgical procedures that otherwise would have been traditionally performed with a larger open cut resulting in a prolonged hospital stay and recovery time.

Robotic surgery is the most advanced form of laparoscopic surgery in which use of a surgical robot is utilised and controlled by the surgeon to complete your surgery. It is minimally invasive with use of small incisions.
Sam can perform any surgery that is performed laparoscopically has a robotic assisted capability and should your surgery be eligible or more suited to robotic assisted surgery this will be discussed at your consultation.
Recovery from robotic gynaecological surgery is quick and most patients will go home the next day. Recovery is different for each individual, many patients return to normal duties after two weeks and feel back to their normal self at four weeks.

Cost to patient will depend on the nature of the robotic assisted surgery and the associated procedure being undertaken. Other factors that will affect cost will include your private health insurance cover and entitlements.
Should you consider surgery, Sam will provide you a comprehensive explanation of costs and ensure you receive all your entitlements and rebates that you are eligible for.
We recommend a referral to ensure you are eligible for the full medicare entitlements for a specialist consultation. You can elect to see Sam without a GP referral however you will not be able to receive the medicare rebate in this instance.
